Sheila Minkah-Premo Biography
Sheila Minkah-Premo is the Senior Managing Partner of Apex Law Consult, a private law firm in Accra, Ghana, with over 35 years of legal practice experience. She specializes in Dispute Resolution, Corporate Practice, and Mining Law and Policy, and has served as a legal consultant to the Ghana Chamber of Mines for over 15 years. A committed gender advocate, Sheila has dedicated much of her career to advancing women’s and children’s rights in Ghana.
She holds an LLB from the University of Ghana, a BL from the Ghana School of Law, and an LLM from Georgetown University Law Center (USA). Sheila has been instrumental in gender-focused legal reform, volunteering with the Legal Aid Commission and FIDA-Ghana, and later chairing the Women and Minors’ Rights Committee of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA). Under her leadership, the GBA Women’s Forum was established, where she served as its first president. Sheila continues to champion affirmative action and gender-responsive legislation in Ghana and across Africa.
